The fastest safe DMZ Cash in Modern Warfare 4 comes from Story Missions and Dynamic Ops, because their payouts go straight to your Bank. Field cash, Recipes, Weapon Manuals and bounties pay too, but only if you exfil. All of it funds the Gunsmith, paid infils, MIA rescues and Operator Prestige.

That split is the whole game. Every deployment is a choice between banking what you've got and pushing for more, and one bad exfil can cost you a rescue bill on top of the loot. Checked against Activision's DMZ Deep Dive posts from June and October.

What it buys

  • Gunsmith weapons: a base M4 runs around 5,000 DMZ Cash once you've extracted its Weapon Manual. Each attachment slot costs more than the last, then each attachment costs again.
  • Vendor stock: ready-built weapons and gear, rotating over time. Handy when you want to redeploy fast.
  • Paid infils: a Polaris Dagor is 5,000, an LTV 25,000, a helicopter 50,000 and a Cargo Plane drop of your choosing 100,000. Going in on foot is free.
  • MIA rescue: bringing back a downed Operator with their Traits intact. The bill scales with their Trait Points.
  • Intel: Lieutenant intel at the Boss Board, and Bounty Station intel on Wanted players in your deployment.
  • Bounties: paying off the bounty on your own head.
  • Operator Prestige: 200,000 for the first, 300,000 for the second and 500,000 for every one after, on top of the gear.
  • Blueprint rebuys: a lost blueprint can be bought back at a discount against building the weapon fresh.

The fastest cash route

  1. Deploy on a Story Mission or straight into a Dynamic Op. Both pay cash on completion.
  2. Chain Dynamic Ops from the phones in the field. Each one adds a Supply Drop of rising rarity.
  3. Loot Recipes, Weapon Manuals and valuables. Recipes and Manuals pay 5,000 each at exfil, and valuables sell for cash.
  4. Take the Free Loadout. It costs nothing, and you keep it if you exfil.
  5. Exfil early once your field cash beats the next objective.

Where the safe money comes from

Activision's June reveal is clear: completing Missions and Ops is the main source of cash, and it's wired straight to the Wallet at your base. A deployment that finishes a Story Mission and two Dynamic Ops has banked money before you've thought about the chopper.

DMZ Orders, the guided objectives at the FOB, also pay cash alongside resources and loot. Activision says Orders are always available, so there's always a paid task on the board.

Where the risky money comes from

  • Field cash: money you loot during a deployment shows in your Loadout and only moves to the Bank after a successful exfil.
  • Recipes and Weapon Manuals: each one you exfil with pays 5,000 DMZ Cash, on top of unlocking the recipe or the weapon.
  • Lieutenants: a confirmed kill pays a substantial bonus, and their Dog Tag Case is worth more again if you get it out.
  • Commanders: the first kill of each Commander pays cash. Colossus, Deathstalker and the tank are all on the list.
  • Bounties: kill a Wanted player and exfil with their Dog Tag for a cut of their bounty. The Dog Tag Case upgrades at DMZ levels 30, 50 and 70 raise that cut by 10%, 50% and 100%.

The Bank has a ceiling

Your Bank holds a set maximum. When it's full, extracted funds have nowhere to go, and Activision's FOB guide warns you may end up selling or discarding loot to make room. Bank Upgrades, printed at the 3D Printer with cash and ingredients, raise the ceiling.

Everything in the Bank is shared by all your Active Duty Operators. Activision even suggests running one Operator as a cash mule, built on loot and cash Traits, to fund the others.

Traits that pay

  • Investor (Scout): slightly increases the cash you extract. The direct one.
  • Container Looter and Hostile Looter (Scout): a chance of extra loot from containers, and printer ingredients from hostiles. More to sell, more to print.
  • Free Revive and Die Hard (Survivalist): not income, but a survived exfil is cash you keep.

Our Trait Points guide covers how Operators earn and spend points.

How to spend it early

Hold back enough to rescue your main Operator before anything else. The bill grows with every Trait they own, and an Operator stuck MIA can't deploy. After that, the Gunsmith is where cash turns into survival, starting with attachment slots on the gun you use most.

Skip the paid infils until you can afford to lose them. Walking in is free, and the Cargo Plane only earns its price when you're dropping on a specific objective. The DMZ levelling route earns cash and XP in the same runs.

Need the Bank filled?

We farm DMZ Cash straight into your Bank, from 100K to 1M per order, piloted on PC by a single named operator running deployments and exfils on your account. The XP earned on the way stays with you. Got questions first? The FAQ on our MW4 page covers how piloted orders work.

Questions players ask

Do I lose my Bank if I die?

No. Only the cash you were carrying in that deployment is lost. Everything already in the Bank is safe, and Activision says mission and Op payouts are wired straight to it.

Is DMZ Cash shared between my Operators?

Yes. Cash, resources and printer ingredients belong to every Active Duty Operator on the account. Traits, Dog Tag rank and each Operator's Backpack and Loadout stay with that Operator.

Does DMZ Cash carry into multiplayer?

No. It's a DMZ-only currency. Weapon levels and camos earned in DMZ carry across, but the cash stays in the Exclusion Zone.
