Privacy Policy
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected by Beton Capital Pty Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”) trading as getrankd.gg, via the website located at getrankd.gg (the “Website”).
We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Information we collect
What we collect depends on how you use the Website:
- Account details — the email address and password you provide when you create an account.
- Order details — the game, product and quantity you purchase, the total price, and delivery information you give us so we can hand over what you bought (for example an in-game character name or Discord tag).
- Payment information — payment details are collected and processed directly by third-party payment providers, on their own hosted checkout pages. We never receive or store your full payment details on our servers.
- Technical information — aggregated analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type) collected by our hosting provider’s own analytics. It is collected without cookies.
- How you found us, and how far you get — our own analytics, collected by the Website itself rather than by an outside service. This covers the website, search or link that referred you (for example a search engine, a Reddit thread or a Discord message), the page you first landed on, the products you look at, and the steps you take when placing an order — including the point at which you stop. It is recorded against a random identifier stored in your browser (see Cookies below), not against your name, and it is recorded whether or not you have an account. Where you were signed in at the time, we also record which account it was, so we can look into a problem if you report one. In these analytics records we keep the country a visit came from and never your IP address. Separately, the first time a browser reaches the Website on a given day, our team is notified in a private channel of that visit’s approximate location — city, region and country, estimated from the network connection rather than from anything you tell us — together with the page that was opened. That notification carries no identifier, no account and no order, and it is not added to the analytics records described here. When an order is placed we keep a note of how that customer first reached us alongside the order, so we can tell which sources actually lead to sales.
- Support communications — anything you send us by email or Discord when you contact support.
We do not collect government ID numbers, financial account details, or health, tax, or employment information. We do not ask for or need your date of birth beyond confirming you meet the age requirement in our Terms of Service.
3. Cookies
The Website sets the following cookies. All of them are first-party — set by getrankd.gg itself, not by an advertising network — and none of them, other than the cookie-choice and currency-display cookies described below, can be read by scripts running in your browser.
- Sign-in — keeps you signed in to your account. Strictly necessary for the Website to function.
- Analytics — two cookies, lasting twelve months. One holds a random identifier for your browser so we can tell a returning visit from a new one. The other records how you first reached the Website, such as the search engine, forum post or campaign link that referred you. Neither contains your name, email address or any other detail that identifies you personally.
- Visitor notification — a cookie lasting 24 hours that records the date we last counted your browser, so the arrival notification described in section 2 is sent at most once a day for any one browser.
- Cookie choice — if you visit from the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland we ask before setting the analytics and visitor-notification cookies, and this cookie remembers your answer for twelve months so we do not ask again. It contains only that answer.
- Currency display — remembers whether you’ve chosen to see prices in AUD or USD, for up to twelve months. It has no effect on what you’re charged, which is always AUD. It’s read by a script on the page itself, not sent to us, so the page can draw in your chosen currency as soon as it loads.
The analytics and visitor-count cookies are not strictly necessary: the Website works without them, and we use them to understand where our customers come from and where people run into trouble while ordering. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not allow third parties to set cookies on the Website, and we do not use any of this to build an advertising profile or pass it to anyone else for their marketing.
If you visit from the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, the analytics and visitor-notification cookies are only set if you accept them when asked; declining does not limit anything on the Website. Wherever you are, you can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop you browsing the Website or placing an order.
4. Why we collect it
- To create and manage your account, including verifying your email address.
- To process and fulfil your orders, and to contact you about them.
- To provide customer support.
- To keep the Website secure and prevent fraud.
- To understand overall Website usage via aggregated analytics.
- To understand which websites, communities and campaigns bring people to the Website, so we know where our customers come from.
- To find the points where people run into difficulty while ordering, so we can fix them.
5. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only to the following categories of recipients, and only as needed to run the Website:
- Our payment providers — to process payments. You choose your payment method at checkout and are handed to that provider’s own hosted page to pay.
- Our hosting provider — which runs the Website, and provides the cookieless analytics described above.
- Our database provider — the database holding your account, order and analytics records runs on their service, which stores it in Sydney, Australia.
- Our email provider — to send account and order emails to the address you give us, such as email verification and order confirmations.
- Our content platform — used to manage the game/product catalogue shown on the Website. It does not receive your personal information.
- Our internal order-management tools (including a private Discord channel) — so the person fulfilling your order can see what you bought and where to deliver it. The arrival notification described in section 2 is delivered to the same private channel.
The analytics described in section 2 that we collect ourselves are not shared with any other company for their own purposes. They stay in our own database (hosted by our database provider, above) and are used only by us.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia (for example, on servers in the United States). Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives protection consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Storage and security
We store account and order data in a database accessed only by authorised personnel, and passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text. We keep order records for as long as needed for accounting, tax, and dispute-handling purposes, and account data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information at any time, subject to records we’re required to keep by law (for example, tax records).
7. How long we keep analytics records
The analytics records described in section 2 — how you found us and the steps you took on the Website — are deleted after twelve months, the same period the analytics cookie that identifies your browser lasts. The note kept with an order of how that customer first reached us is part of the order record and is kept for as long as the order is, as described in section 6.
8. Access and correction
You can ask us for access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing admin@getrankd.gg. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and won’t charge you for making a request.
9. Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we’ve handled your personal information, email us at admin@getrankd.gg. Complaints are reviewed by Alexander Patrulescu. We’ll acknowledge your complaint, look into it, and get back to you with an outcome. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the Website changes. The current version always applies, and the date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
11. Contact us
Questions about this policy or your personal information can go to admin@getrankd.gg.
