Aion 2 Membership is worth it if you want to trade. It's the only way into the Market and the Kina–Quna Exchange, which makes it the key to Aion 2's player economy. If you only want to quest, level and run dungeons, you can skip it.
Aion 2 is free to play, so Membership is the one recurring cost most players will weigh up. Here's what it covers, what it no longer does, and who should pay, all from NC's own announcements as of 2 Oct.
How much is Aion 2 Membership?
NC lists it at $15 a month but doesn't name the currency, so check your local price in the in-game shop. Every Founder's Pack includes 30 days of it (NC calls that the Special Quai Membership), so if you bought one for Early Access, your first month is covered.
What does Aion 2 Membership include?
Between its perk list and its launch notices, NC names these:
- The Market. Aion 2's player economy, where items are bought and sold for Kina at prices players set. NC's rule is plain: an active Membership is required to trade there.
- The Kina–Quna Exchange. Swap Kina with other players for Quna, the premium currency, or the other way round. Every exchange is between players. NC makes no listings of its own.
- Remote Storage. Reach your storage without walking back to it.
- Wind Breeze Merchants. Access to these merchants is on NC's perk list, with no detail. NC's business-model post mentions a members' shop for extra purchases with Kina, which is likely the same thing.
- More Odyle Energy. A higher cap, plus extra picks from Odyle Energy Cubes in Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary content.
- Priority queue. When a server is full, NC says members in good standing join a priority queue instead of the general one, though both move as space opens. NC calls it a privilege, not a guarantee.
What about Personal Trading?
NC's August perk list includes Personal Trading, but on 19 Sep NC disabled direct player-to-player trades as an anti-bot measure. That leaves the Market and the Kina–Quna Exchange as the only ways to trade with other players, and both need Membership.
What can you do without Membership?
Almost everything except trade:
- Play the whole game. NC's line is that Aion 2 is free to play with no purchase required.
- Earn and spend Kina. Kina comes from playing, and you can still spend it on things like enhancing your gear.
- Run the Battle Pass. The standard track of the Daeva Pass is open to every player. Only the premium track costs Quna.
What you can't do is sell your drops to other players or buy theirs. Gear and materials you don't need stay in your bags or go to a vendor.
Is Aion 2 Membership worth it?
- Worth it if you farm materials to sell, want to buy gear off other players, or play at peak times on a busy server.
- Skip it if you play a few evenings a week for the story and dungeons, and don't care about the Market.
- Test it on the house if you bought a Founder's Pack. Judge it on your included 30 days before you pay for a second month.
Do you need Membership to buy Kinah?
Yes, from anyone. Direct trades are off, so every Kinah delivery in global Aion 2 goes through the Market, and the Market needs Membership.
That includes us. We deliver Kinah through your server's Auction House: you list a material at a price we give you, and we buy it. NC charges the seller a listing fee and a sale tax, so those come off what you receive.
No active Membership when you order? We hold the order for seven days so you can switch it on, then refund it less payment processing fees.
Buying Kinah from a third party like us breaks NC's Operation Policy. NC's own Kina–Quna Exchange, which the same Membership unlocks, is the route inside the rules, and the FAQ on our Aion 2 page sets out the risk.
Rather earn it yourself? Here's how to make Kinah in Aion 2. Still choosing a server? Read Early Access or Launch first.
One more question
Is Aion 2 pay to win? NC says shop cosmetics give no gameplay or combat advantage, and its shop consumables, like potions and resurrection stones, don't affect gear progression and can be earned in play. The Exchange does let members turn Quna, bought with real money, into Kina, and Kina buys whatever other players list on the Market, so spending can speed you up.
