Abyss Points (AP) are the PvP currency of Aion 2. You earn them in the Abyss, the Arenas and from duty scrolls, then spend them at the Trade Shop on Stigma Shards, Potential Stones and Daevanion Crystals. They are not your rank. That's a separate score.

The catch is the limits: weekly caps, seven hours per Abyss layer, and shop items that sell out every week. Figures below are from the global client (build 0.0.4387.0), checked 6 October.

Abyss Points vs Abyss rank

Most early guides treat AP and rank as one number. They aren't. AP is a wallet you fill and empty. Rank runs on Rank Points, and you're ranked only against players of your own class, updated hourly.

Abyss Points versus Rank Points

What it is:
Abyss Points, A currency you spend.
Rank Points, Your season ladder score
What it gets you:
Abyss Points, Trade Shop items.
Rank Points, A rank title and PvP buff
On death:
Abyss Points, Kept.
Rank Points, Can drop
Compared with:
Abyss Points, Nobody.
Rank Points, Your own class only

There are 18 ranks, from Ninth-Class Soldier up to Supreme Commander, and each gives a buff of 1.2 to 5% to PvP damage, PvP tolerance and Abyss PvE damage. Spending AP never touches it.

How to get into the Abyss

The Abyss opens at level 45, and the faction bases in Lower Reshanta need item level 1,000 to enter. Still climbing? Our levelling guide covers the fastest route to 45.

  • Three layers: Lower Reshanta is a flying zone with three Artifacts. Middle Reshanta has no Flight Circles, so fights happen on foot.
  • Always-on PvP: every layer. Your server's paired enemy-faction server shares it with you.
  • Seven hours per layer, per week: the clock only runs while you're inside. Membership doubles it to 14, and Rift Stones add more.

Where to farm Abyss Points

AP comes from almost everything you do at level 45. These are the reliable sources, with the amounts the global client pays.

Duty scrolls

1,000 AP each in Lower Reshanta, 2,000 in Middle Reshanta. Home-map Duty Missions pay 1,000 plus bound Kinah. Quest AP doesn't count toward your weekly cap.

Arena of Tactics

The 10v10 Arena pays 1,000 AP per match and 3,000 per win, plus Silver Medals of Merit. The best AP per match in the game.

Solitude and Cooperation

The smaller Arenas pay 300 AP per match and 500 per win. Fine for filling gaps, slow as a main source.

Dungeons

Many dungeons, Poacher's Den among them, pay 1,000 AP per clear. A good fallback when the Abyss is quiet.

Artifact Siege

AP goes to players on the winning side, by contribution. Each Artifact your faction holds also gives everyone an AP bonus, up to 7.5% for three.

Achievements pay too. Killing enemy Commanders and Supreme Commanders adds up to 40,000 AP across its tiers, and 50 kills earns 33,600.

Is there a weekly AP cap?

Yes, three of them: a weekly cap for PvE, a weekly cap for PvP, and one for the whole season. Past a cap you still earn AP, just at a reduced rate. All of it resets on Wednesday.

  • Not capped: quest and Supply Request AP. Abyss Corridor PvE also skips the PvE cap.
  • Global numbers: not published. NC sets them on the server, so no datamine shows them. Korea has run a 400,000 AP weekly cap since December 2025, but global values can differ.

Do you lose Abyss Points when you die?

No, not on current rules. A PvP death lowers your Rank Points, not the AP in your wallet. Korea made that change in February 2026, and the global client only describes Rank Point loss.

Older guides from before that patch still say you lose AP. Rank Points still matter for your season title and PvP buff, so dying is still worth avoiding.

What to buy with Abyss Points

The Trade Shop has 44 items. Most get pricier as you buy them, and many have weekly or lifetime limits.

ItemCost in APLimit
Potential Stone: Abyss25,000 to 100,000Weekly, per account
Stigma Shard10,000 to 25,00050 per price tier
Daevanion Crystal: Azphel10,000 to 80,000110 in total
Silver Medal of Merit10,00010 a week
Amulet Enhance Scroll10,000 to 150,0005 per price tier
Warrior Wings200,0001 per character

What to buy first

  • Potential Stones: the weekly limit means a missed week is gone for good. A full +4 on one item takes 400,000 AP and 10 stones, so start early.
  • Stigma Shards: cheapest at the first price tier. Buy them while they're at 10,000.
  • Daevanion Crystals: permanent power on your Daevanion board, but 110 is a long climb. Buy steadily.
  • Skins and wings last: Decanus pieces cost 45,300 AP each, Centurion pieces 147,100 plus 40 medals, and wings 200,000. Save them for after the weekly buys.

No item needs a particular rank. More AP never buys past a weekly limit, though, so a bigger balance only helps if you'll spend it.

Rather skip the grind?

We farm Abyss Points by hand on your level 45 character, from 10,000 to 500,000, working through the sources your character still has open that week. Everything else earned on the way stays yours.
