Specialisations (Specializations in Funcom's own menus) are Dune: Awakening's endgame progression: five tracks of 100 levels each, levelled through Landsraad missions once you reach Faction Rank 5. They arrived with Chapter 3 in February 2026 and run alongside your character level rather than adding to it.

The catch is pace. Specialisation XP only comes with a Mnemonic Recollection, you earn five a day, and you can bank 35. Trait figures below come from the community wiki's tables and Funcom's Chapter 3 notes, checked 9 October.

How to unlock them

  1. Raise your Atreides or Harkonnen standing to Faction Rank 5, House Operator. Thufir Hawat in Arrakeen or Piter de Vries in Harko Village grants the title.
  2. Reach the Specialisations step in the journey The Art of Making Friends.
  3. Open the Skills menu. The Specialisations tracks are now available.
  4. Take Landsraad missions in the category you want to level.

The five tracks

Crafting

Better durability, recycling and refining yields, cheaper augments, and the augment slots your gear needs: Augmentation itself is gated by this track. Capstone at 100: Ghost Data, a 15% chance of twice the permits when you learn a schematic.

Gathering

Bonus scrap from salvage, double blood extraction, cheaper tool power and jackpot yield chances. Its passive bonus builds to +50% mining yield by level 100.

Combat

The only track that adds skill points: 54 of them by level 100, on top of the 199 from character levels. Plus health, stamina, and passive damage up to +100%.

Sabotage

Combat is the safe pick if you can't decide. Character levels stop at 199 skill points, and Combat's 54 are the only way past that ceiling.

Mnemonic Recollections, explained

Landsraad missions always pay Solari, XP and contribution. The bonus rewards, Specialisation XP, faction standing and House Scrip, need a Mnemonic Recollection, and one is used automatically each time you finish a mission.

They arrive in a batch of five every 24 hours, and you can hold 35, a week's worth. Since patch 1.3.10 the UI shows a timer for the next batch.

Spice is the real cost

  • Primary traits: bought with Spice Melange once you have the XP, and the price rises with level. One track to 100 costs 750 spice in all.
  • Secondary traits: passive bonuses that stack with every level you gain in the track.
  • All five tracks: 3,750 spice. If you're specialising seriously, that's what the PvP Deep Desert and its 2.5x spice yield are for.

Rather skip to the endgame?

Specialisations sit at the end of the climb. Our operators level your PC character by hand to any level up to 200, and we deliver Solari on every PC World for the augments Crafting unlocks. The FAQ on our Dune: Awakening page covers how both work.
