WARDOGS hit early access on September 10, and after a closed beta that pulled in a huge player base, the servers are packed. If you've picked the Support class and feel like your class level is crawling while everyone else climbs, you're not playing badly. You're just playing it like a rifleman. Support levels on a completely different loop, and once you commit to it, it's one of the most reliable XP sources in the game.

How progression works in WARDOGS

Before you optimise anything, understand what you're levelling. WARDOGS tracks two separate progressions:

  • Account Level: your overall rank, fed by everything you do in a match.
  • Class Level: a separate track per class. Support XP only comes from doing Support things.

That split is why kill-chasing on Support feels so slow. Frags feed your account, but the class bar barely moves. To level Support you need to earn XP the way the class is designed to earn it.

What the Support class actually does

Support in WARDOGS is the logistics and construction role. Three jobs define it:

  1. Supplies: moving resources from spawn to your team's Forward Operating Base (FOB).
  2. Building: using the Hammer to construct and reinforce the FOB and its perimeter.
  3. Placements: setting up Mortar and Anti-Air emplacements to hit enemies and aircraft your squad can't reach on foot.

Every one of those generates class XP. The trick is knowing which one pays best at which point in the match.

The core Support loop

Here's the cycle that earns XP from start to finish:

Step 1: Load a vehicle with supplies. Grab a basic transport at spawn and fill it to capacity. Don't leave with a half-empty truck; the trip costs the same time either way.

Step 2: Deliver to the FOB. Drive to your team's FOB and unload. This is where the passive income starts: you earn XP every time a teammate buys an item from the supplies you dropped. One full delivery keeps paying you while you're off doing something else.

Step 3: Build with the Hammer. While your supplies are being drawn down, get the Hammer out and build. Every strike gives a small chunk of XP, and a fresh FOB needs a lot of strikes: walls, positions, a secure perimeter. Early in a match this is near-unlimited work.

Step 4: Defend and place. With the FOB stood up, switch to holding it. Keep a close-range weapon for anything that pushes the perimeter, and drop Mortar or Anti-Air placements to contribute to fights at range.

Step 5: Go back for more. Supplies run out. Loop to Step 1.

Best XP farming method for Support

If you only take one thing from this guide: supply runs are the fastest way to level Support in WARDOGS. A stocked FOB is the class's whole value, and the game pays out accordingly.

The optimisation is in what you carry:

  • Early match: prioritise build supplies. The FOB doesn't exist yet, your teammates need materials to construct it, and every purchase from your delivery is XP for you.
  • Once the FOB is established: switch to ammunition and consumables. Builders don't need materials any more, but everyone fighting from the FOB is burning ammo constantly, and every resupply they take is XP for you.

Between runs, put the Hammer to work. You're never idle: if the truck is empty, you build; if the base is built, you drive.

It's not the flashiest way to play a shooter, and you'll finish some matches with a kill count that looks embarrassing next to your score. But your team will hold ground they otherwise wouldn't, and your Support bar will fill faster than any other approach we've tested.

Quick checklist

  • Pick Support, grab the basic transport and a Hammer
  • Fill the vehicle completely before leaving spawn
  • Build supplies first, ammo once the FOB is up
  • Hammer everything while your delivery gets bought out
  • Hold the perimeter with a close-range weapon; place Mortars / Anti-Air for range
  • Repeat: never drive an empty truck

FAQ

Does killing enemies level the Support class? It helps your Account Level, but it's a poor source of class XP. Support levels through supplies, building and placements.

How do I know if my supplies are earning XP?
You're credited each time a teammate purchases from the supplies you delivered. Stock the FOB with what your team is actually using (build materials early, ammo later) and the XP follows.

Is the Hammer worth using or is it filler?
Each strike is small XP, but a new FOB needs hundreds of strikes. On a fresh base it's the best use of the time between supply trips.

What should I carry after the FOB is built?
Ammunition and similar consumables. Builders stop needing materials, but the front line never stops needing ammo.

Is WARDOGS fully released?
No. It launched into early access on September 10, 2026, developed by BULKHEAD. Expect balance changes to XP rates as the game develops; we'll update this guide when they land.

Want to skip the grind? The Class XP Boost levels Support for you: pick Support as the class when you order. We deliver it by logging into your account, which BULKHEAD's rules count as account sharing, so read what that risks first. The loops above earn the same XP with no risk to the account, and everything else we sell for WARDOGS is on the Wardogs page.
