What Soldier Rank is
Soldier Rank is Modern Warfare 4's multiplayer level, from 1 to 55. XP from every multiplayer match moves it, and so does XP earned in DMZ. Later ranks take more XP than early ones, so the climb slows the higher you go.
What it unlocks
Almost everything in the loadout screen sits behind a rank: base weapons, perks, equipment, field upgrades, killstreaks and extra Create-a-Class slots. Until you have them, you're building classes from whatever the early ranks hand out.
Why reach 55
Level 55 is the cap and the gate to Prestige, where your rank resets and the long climb to Prestige Master begins. Reaching it opens the full loadout screen, and every unlock earned on the way stays on your account.
